Uzbekistan is home to an extreme continental climate, with summer and winter offering (near-literal) polar opposites, though the South of the country tends to be warmer than the North. The height of summer sees temperatures in the South reach as high as 50 degrees, and Tashkent can reach around 40 degrees, whereas Northern and mountain regions are cooler. Winter brings with it temperatures in the North of around minus 8 degrees and just around freezing in the South, though permutations can make temperatures plummet, with records showing lows of around minus thirty five degrees.
